Corrections to SLStats Banner
The SL Stats banner is getting quite popular. And as some of you may have noticed, the "Last 7 days" display was not quite accurate. It would on occasion put the stats bar with the wrong day of the week. Most common occurance was when someone wasn't in Second Life for a day, and it wouldn't have any stats available for that particular day.
That required a small fix and has been corrected now. Also, if you want to include your slstats banner on your personal web site or wherever, feel free to use it. The URL is normally http://stats.slbuzz.com/your-name.png. While that may seem like a static file, it's dynamically generated (and cached for a period of time). Instead of .png, you can also use .gif or .jpeg to have it generate the banner in those particular formats.
More on this weekend's updates later.
Enjoy!

Changes to blogging
I'm working on a few tweaks of how blogging works. Most of this stuff is under the hood back-end type stuff that you really don't need to worry about. But you can pretty much expect that a lot of stuff will simply become more intuitive.
That almost wraps it up. I've been adding small tweaks here and there, and there are still a few more bugs to take care of. Some of it is due to backward compatibility with the old SLBuzz web site, and the SLStats banner in particular.
The URLs are much more pleasant to look at now as well. If you want to see all of my blog entries, for instance, you can check those out at http://blogs.slbuzz.com/mark-barrett. With other SL residents, you simply substitute for the name accordingly.

Ready to flip the switch
Well, it looks like I'm going to either break a lot of stuff, or have a really smooth transition. Lets hope for the best. As long as all the SL widgets and SL gadgets out there keep working, it should be all good.
This will be the end of SLStats as we know it. Good times.
Just kidding, it can only get better.

changes coming soon
i've been talking about it for a while, but kept getting distracted by RL work, family, health issues, responding to inquiries from businesses, networking with folks, and goofing off.
A bunch of sites are working on are going through some changes, and will offer some interesting features, integrated with Second Life.

What I'm up to these days
A few folks noticed that it's gotten a bit quiet. I've been under the weather for the last three weeks now, with flu-like symptoms, so I just really haven't been in the mood to do anything really interesting besides vegging out in front of a movie.
On the other hand, I am looking to release a new feature — nay, site — soon. I've been working on sltags.com, which is a really neat way to tag locations and share them with others.
I'm adding the finishing touches to the HUD so people can start using it. The interesting part is that it allows you to upload a snapshot (as postcard), and it'll automagically associate with a location. It also lets you see other snapshots from an area.
And that's also done automatically. Just send in snapshots, and it'll do all the magic on its own. In other words, as the site grows you're able to browse Second Life from the web (in a slightly different way than Snapzilla does).
The most interesting part, I think though, is that it lets you add locations with tags and lets you create "Landmarks" so to say that others can search for as well. In a sense it's almost like del.icio.us for Second Life.
And the interesting thing for other developers is the ability to hook into the tagging script to write their own front-ends. The site will be accessible through APIs in Second Life as well as the web.
Check it out. http://sltags.com/
